1. What this policy covers

M/S. HYDRA uses cookies and similar browser storage on Hydra’s website and affiliated pages (the “Website”). This policy explains what those technologies are, what Hydra uses them for, what Hydra does not use them for, and the choices available to you.

It sits alongside the Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly. Where the two overlap, both apply.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that the site can recognise your browser on a later request. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — work the same way from your point of view: they let a page remember something between clicks. Neither gives a website access to your computer or to any information beyond what is stored there.

Session storage is cleared when you close the tab. Local storage stays until it is removed. Cookies have an expiry set when they are created.

3. What Hydra stores, and why

Everything the Website stores in your browser is there to make the site work. There is no optional category and nothing that follows you elsewhere.

  • Your cart. The bottles you have chosen are kept in your browser so the cart survives a refresh and a sign-in. It is cleared when an order is placed.
  • Your sign-in. When you sign in, our authentication provider stores a session token in your browser. Without it you would be signed out on every page. Signing out removes it.
  • The colour you were last looking at, so moving between pages does not reset the bottle you were reading about. This is cleared when the tab closes.
  • A one-time key for an order page. When you place an order, a key to reopen that order is stored for the tab, so that the link does not have to carry it in the address bar where it could be copied, logged or shared by accident. This is cleared when the tab closes.
  • Technical cookies set by our hosting and security provider to serve pages and protect the Website against abuse.

4. Measuring how the Website is used

Hydra uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It is a deliberately limited tool: it sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other websites.

What it records is the page visited, the site that linked you, the country, and the general type of device and browser. It does not record who you are, and Hydra cannot use it to identify an individual visitor or to single one out.

5. What Hydra does not do

Hydra does not run advertising cookies, marketing pixels or cross-site tracking, and does not sell or share browsing behaviour with advertisers.

Beyond the measurement described above, nothing on the Website profiles you or watches what you do. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change goes live and the tools used will be named here.

6. Third-party services

Some of what is stored is set by services Hydra uses to run the Website rather than by Hydra directly. Those services handle that data under their own policies.

  • Our authentication provider, for keeping you signed in.
  • Our hosting and security provider, for delivering pages and blocking abuse.
  • Google, if — and only if — you choose to sign in with Google. Google then sets its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie policies.
  • Payment and delivery providers, where a payment or delivery is actually processed through them.

7. Your choices

Most browsers accept cookies automatically, and every major browser lets you block them or clear stored site data, usually under privacy or site settings. Your browser’s help pages describe how.

Because everything Hydra stores is needed for the site to function, blocking or clearing it has real effects rather than none: you will be signed out, your cart will be empty, and a saved order link may stop opening. Nothing else about the Website changes, and you can browse and read the whole site with storage blocked.

8. Changes and contact

Hydra will update this policy when what the Website stores changes, or when its legal obligations change, and the date above will change with it.
