Hydra 680 mL
The insulated stainless steel bottle.
Frequently asked questions
What comes in the box?
The Hydra bottle, its filter cartridge and a user manual.
How big and how heavy is Hydra 680 mL?
It holds 680 mL, stands about 25 cm tall, is about 7.5 cm across and weighs about 375 g empty.
Will Hydra fit a car cup holder?
At about 7.5 cm across, it should fit most standard car cup holders.
How do I set up Hydra before first use?
Unscrew the cap and detach the filter. Wash the bottle, cap and mouthpiece with mild dishwashing liquid, and rinse the filter with clean water only. Reconnect the filter firmly to the straw under the mouthpiece, fill the bottle, then take a few firm sips and spit them out to prime the filter.
How do I use Hydra?
Fill the bottle, check the filter is attached and tighten the cap, then flip open the mouthpiece and drink through the straw. Water is filtered as you sip. Close the mouthpiece after drinking. Always drink through the mouthpiece: water poured straight from the bottle has not passed through the filter.
Does Hydra need charging?
No. Water passes through the built-in filter as you sip, so filtration requires no electricity or charging.
How should I clean my bottle?
Take the filter out first. Wash the bottle, cap and mouthpiece with mild dishwashing liquid and clean water, then let them dry fully before storing. Rinse the filter gently with clean water only: never soap, detergent, bleach or boiling water, and never in a dishwasher.
Why is it hard to sip at first?
A new filter has to wet through and push out trapped air, so the first few sips take extra effort and may taste slightly different. Flow improves with use. If it stays slow, check the filter is attached properly and take a few firm sips. If it still will not flow after cleaning, replace the filter.
Why is my Hydra leaking?
Check that the cap is tightened, the mouthpiece is fully closed and the seals are fitted correctly.
